Dirigo Capital Advisors will invest $23 million to redevelop Ballard Center, named in honor of Martha Ballard. Ballard was one of Kennebec Valley’s most storied personalities and the subject of the Pulitzer-Prize winning book A Midwife’s Tale by historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.

The facility will boast premiere office and commercial space in the heart of East Augusta. DCA has a proven model for redeveloping challenging properties, including the Central Maine Commerce Center in Augusta, which has produced $50 million in new taxable valuation for the city since its inception in 2004. We plan similar success at Ballard Center.
